Prison Ministry

“When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?’ And the King will say to them in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”-Mt 25:39-40. The Prison Ministry brings the Word of Christ directly to inmates inside the Greenville County Detention Center (GCDC) and Perry Correctional Institute (Perry). Each individual or team, ministers to the inmates with their own unique set of gifts and language skills. The inmate ministry program is based on the Divine Mercy web site and the two biblical readings from the Lectionary for the day. In preparation, each volunteer is given an electronic copy of the lesson, and a summary of the two readings with a suggested reflection. Contact: Deacon Ray Perham at deaconray@olrgvl.org.
