Christian Formation Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunities and How to sign-up

We are a Safe Environment Parish. The Diocese of Charleston requires ALL adult volunteers (including teens who have turned 18 years old) working with children to complete a background screening and to take the Safe Haven training (it replaced VIRTUS). Download the Background and Safe Haven instructions from this website or the parish website www.smmcc.org under Safe Environment.  You do not have to complete the Driving or Credit Check paperwork if you are not going to drive youth other than your own or handle funds for the parish.

If you would like to share your time and talents with our children, please print the form to your left or below if using a handheld device.  Complete it in its entirety and return to the Office of Christian Formation.

Volunteer Opportunities include the following:                                                                 No experience is needed to be a catechist. Training and materials are provided.
