St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church

St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church welcomes all who have a call to serve our Parish and Community. We thank you for your desire to serve, and look forward to the opportunity to advance the vision and mission of our Parish through the ministry/organization you have chosen to establish.

This form is required for any new ministry or organization (programs, groups, etc.) seeking approval, recognition, support, and/or facilities usage at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.

All new ministries/organizations must receive application approval prior to holding any meetings, activities, etc. at St. Mary Magdalene.

All Diocese of Charleston, National non-parish based and non-diocese/non-parish based ministries/organizations must be listed on the Diocese of Charleston’s Compliance List and receive the approval prior to conducting any meetings, activities, etc. at St. Mary Magdalene. These approved ministries/organizations must provide St. Mary Magdalene Office proof of their own liability insurance and when applicable, a list of leaders, facilitators, instructors, etc., who are compliant with the Diocesan Safe Environment Policy.

What is the application process?

Submit the New Ministry Application Form (Contact the Stewardship and Ministry Coordinator if you have questions or require assistance.) Submit any appropriate documentation to the Stewardship and Ministry Coordinator via email or bring it to the parish office.

What is the approval process?

The Stewardship and Ministry Coordinator will review the Application and work with the applicant, as needed, to answer all questions, resolve any issues, and obtain additional requirement. Applicant will then make a brief presentation (maximum of 10 minutes) of their application to the Pastoral Council during their monthly meeting. The Pastoral Council will review and make recommendation to the Pastor. The Pastor's final decision will be sent in written communication to the applicant.

General Requirements

General Requirements/Expectations for all Ministries/Organizations: All ministries/organizations will create/submit a Purpose Statement for their organization. A file with all pertinent information, correspondence, etc. will be maintained for each approved ministry and organization at the St. Mary Magdalene Office.

Please Note: Normal time from submission to notification can be up to 90 days or longer if issues need to be addressed at the National or Diocese level, and depending upon the availability of the approving resources, the need for the additional information, documentation, etc.
