Saint Pope John Paul II reminds us in the General Directory for Catechesis that we as parents are the primary educators of our children.  He says the following…

“The witness of Christian life given by parents in the family comes to children with tenderness and parental respect. Children thus perceive and joyously live the closeness of God and of Jesus made manifest by their parents in such a way that this first Christian experience frequently leaves decisive traces which last throughout life. This childhood religious awakening which takes place in the family is irreplaceable.  Indeed, "family catechesis precedes...accompanies and enriches all forms of catechesis". (Catechesi Tradendae 68)

This September, we will be continuing our family-based program.  If you are new to our program, this means that mom and dad, you will be more involved in your child’s religious education; you will become their catechists, their teachers!  Now don’t worry, we’re here for you.  This is how it works…

For ALL students, grades K5 through grade 11, we will be meeting twice a month, once with the parents & children, once with the children only.  We will come together monthly, parents and children, for a faith-based activity before they head off to class.  Parents, once they are dismissed with their teachers, we will discuss the upcoming topics for the month. 

Children who were in Intro classes or Grade 1 last year, and students who will be in their second year of preparation for First Communion, will register and attend at grade level twice a month.  They will also attend separate Reconciliation & First Communion prep sessions with their parents.  The registration form for Sacramental prep. will be sent to you once you complete the grade level registration.

For children who are just beginning their Christian Formation classes and are 2nd grade or older, you will register for "Intro" classes that meet twice a month on Sundays from 11:00am to 12:45pm.

Please choose the session(s) that work best for your children as attendance at these monthly meetings is expected.   PLEASE look this calendar over carefully when deciding on what session to register for- Don’t register for a session that you can only attend “occasionally”.

First Communion sessions are NOT on this calendar.  You will receive a separate list of dates once you complete the First Communion Registration Form. 

Christian Formation Schedule 2021-22

• This session is ONLY for students in grade K5 to 6th. 

• This session is ONLY for students in grade 7 to 11th. 

• Sunday Sessions: This session is ONLY for first year students in need of the sacrament of Baptism and/or First Communion. 

Tuition

This form will enable you to register with payment, see fees below:

• $40.00 for one student, $75.00 for two and $100.00 for three or more
