Reaching Out

Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.”

St. Teresa of Avila

  • Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is inspired by Gospel values. It leads men and women to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who will go hungry, and/or need a financial boost to get them through these tough times.

Our food pantry is open on Mondays at the Brown Road House from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry provides high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care and support to people experiencing grief, divorce, cancer, job loss, loneliness, disability, relocation, and other life difficulties.

  • Habitat for Humanity

Our ministry was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent place to live in dignity and safety. Men, women and teens (16 and older) are welcome to volunteer.

  • Grief Support

Whenever we experience the loss of a loved one, we may be frozen in place with hopelessness and sadness. We can certainly experience some good days, but there are often days when coping with everyday life can be overwhelming. We are here for you. We’re available to meet individually.

  • Healing Hearts

All widows and widowers of our parish are invited to join us for a meal with others who are also walking the grief journey after losing a spouse. This is a safe environment for those with recent losses as well as those with more distant losses. We can all learn from one another and draw strength.

We meet for dinner on the third Wednesday of every month and for lunch on the last Wednesday.

  • Giving Tree

The Giving Tree provides the opportunity for our parish community to share their time and treasure in celebration of Christ’s birth. Each year, our parishioners generously donate gifts of clothing, household supplies, books, toys, and hygiene items to assist families in need. We hope these gifts bring families peace and comfort and let them know that they are not alone during the joyous Christmas season.

  • Military Support

We offer spiritual and material support to all service members and their families who are members of our parish, and who are on active duty, deployed, or returning from deployment. We also offer Benefits Counseling to parish members who are Veterans of Military Service and need help navigating the bureaucracy of the Veterans Administration; or to the survivors of deceased veterans who need assistance with decedent benefits.

  • Blood Drive

St. Mary Magdalene and The Blood Connection collaborate to bring a Blood Drive to our parish four times a year. This makes it very convenient for our parish donors. Our blood drives are always on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon.

Look for announcements in the bulletin for the next Blood Drive.

  • Cookies for Kairos

    Why bake cookies?
The goal of the Cookies for Kairos events is to support those who are spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ in prisons.
Twice a year we bake cookies for their retreats. Families are invited to pray as we bake for those who will visit the prisons and those who will receive the baked goods.

Look for announcements in the bulletin for the next cookie collection.

  • Prison Ministry

Imprisoned men and women are God’s children and Jesus asks us to serve their needs, to bring God’s word to them through example and deeds, and to be their Christian companions. Reach out to our local Prison Ministry contact to volunteer and for more information.
