Habitat for Humanity

For more than 20 years, the Faith & Golden Strip Church Coalition Build has significantly contributed to the affordable housing landscape in Greenville County.

When you help build a Habitat home, someone benefits from your efforts every day, year after year.  Not many opportunities to "give back," yield such lasting benefit. Our Ministry’s home builds foster camaraderie and teamwork; a mere side effect of the powerful work we do. Families are the heart of our mission. Adult and teenage volunteers make a difference in the lives of families by the work of their hands. This tangible expression of love makes a difference for generations.

Protection from the elements -- a basic human need

Shelter from wind, rain and cold is a basic human need. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action.

New Hope

Habitat houses are purchased by families at prices affordable to low-income Americans, thanks to donated labor of Habitat volunteers, support of partner organizations and the no-profit, no-interest terms of each U.S. Habitat for Humanity mortgage. Through the work of Habitat, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle a significant social problem - decent housing for all.

Affordable housing is a foundation for family success

Having an affordable place to call home provides relief from stress and enables families to redirect their energy toward endeavors that improve their futures and their children’s lives.

Research from Clemson University highlights the significant role of secure and stable housing in fostering a child’s academic achievements and improving health and financial well-being for Habitat Greenville families.

Access to an affordable home significantly empowers homeowners to elevate their entire family, enabling savings for their futures and investment in educational opportunities.
